افتراضي The PC launch of PSO2 is a mess right now

The players that made the Arks Layer enthusiast launcher that's allowed people to cheap PSO2 Meseta play the JP version, for the last 8 years, have added support for updating/patching that the NA PSO2 through their launcher. Presently, it still requires the first 11gb download from the Windows Store, but they are working to determine if they can bypass the Windows Store entirely. So, it appears using a workaround to bypass the NA launcher, and just launching Phantasy Star Online 2 stand, makes the horrible lobby lag vanish almost entirely. This will, however, make you not able to spot the normal way, so you'll need to use the aforementioned Arks Layer launcher instead to patch Phantasy Star Online 2 (which is probably the safer bet at this point anyhow ).

This is like a night and day difference of 60+ FPS with no stutter. This appears to confirm that it's not Phantasy Star Online 2 causing the lobby lag, and that something is critically wrong with SEGA's launcher for the NA version.According to one user, there's an -Boost flag that the launcher passes to pso2.exe that's ruining I/O performance and causing the huge framework drops at the lobbies. Will update again if more info is available. SEGA stated they won't have some information/fixes about the rest of the stuff. Meanwhile, the Arks Layer has fixed lots of the install problems and is going to try to upgrade their launcher using a solution ASAP. Pays like this.

I'm frankly puzzled because this NA launch is only occurring 8 years later due to somebody in Microsoft clearly using a soft place for PSO, but yet they don't appear to have completed any QA at all to be sure Phantasy Star Online 2 actually installs/launches properly for the vast majority of users. It's like they put their enthusiasm into announcing Phantasy Star Online 2 and not one into making sure it actually works. With the Japanese version for years and I've played, and installing/uninstalling/translating throughout the Arks Layer launcher that was fan-made is this point. There's no reason.

More perplexing yet is why they decided to use the old Microsoft Store as opposed to this brand new Xbox service they have been pushing hard on Windows 10 (which in my experience is 100x better). I ran to no issues that were install but getting it to work on my sister's PC was a complete nightmare. It is a fluid action combat game with a great deal of content and charm. At its finest, the boss fights give an almost Monster Hunter-ish vibe off.

I really want Phantasy Star Online 2 to triumph over here. The foundation combat is so much fun if you love action games such as DMC or Dragon Hunter, and unlike the abortion that has been Phantasy Star Universe, PSO2 is really an astonishing, well-crafted game with a whole lot of stuff to do. They have dropped with such a botched install process. I envision a lot of potential players will just throw up their hands and can you buy meseta on pso2 not bother with all the troubleshooting. And of course there's been 0 advertising. I really don't know when this is more Sega's mistake or Microsoft's, but someone's been totally asleep at the wheel.
